What is the height requirement?

You have to be 56 inches tall to ride alone on the Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster. If you’re riding as a passenger in a sled, you only have to be 36 inches tall (the person controlling the sled has to be 56 inches tall and over the age of 16).

The sled can hold up to 375 pounds when the weather is dry. If the weather is wet, it can only hold up to 330 pounds.

Is it a long ride?

The track runs over a mile long and, on average, it takes 7-8 minutes from start to finish.

How fast is the ride?

The sled can reach a maximum speed of 30 miles per hour, but the rider has complete control over the speed of the sled. You can slow it down or speed it up as you ride.

When is the Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster open?

The coaster is open daily, rain or shine. The great thing about it is that the brakes operate the same in any weather condition, so, for the most part, it’s open in the rain, sunshine and snow. *Some extreme weather conditions may affect the hours of operation.
