Of course, The Old Mill is a historic grist mill that was built in the early 1800s. It’s still in operation today and any of the meals and flours used in dishes at The Old Mill and The Old Mill Pottery House Cafe are made right on site at the grist mill. The Old Mill’s giant water wheel also helps with the flow of the Little Pigeon River, as you can see when you visit.

The Old Mill Pottery House Cafe and Grille is actually the former home of Pigeon River Pottery’s founding potter, Douglas Ferguson. Many of the structures in the restaurant are original.

The menu includes a great selection of items, including lighter options like salads and sandwiches, but they also serve heartier selections like steaks, burgers and pork chops. Not just the meals are handmade, though! All of the plates, bowls and even the salt shakers are handcrafted at Pigeon River Pottery (located right beside the Cafe).
